Madonna – Who’s that Girl?

Madonna 3.jpgTwo days ago I went to see Madonna in the Arena in Amsterdam. Madonna has long been one of my favorite Feminine Leadership role models. People ask me how come I see her as a role model for women when she is using so much Male energy and building so much on her sex image.

Well, for me, that is exactly the reason why I see her as a role model for Feminine Leadership. She is not afraid of her sexuality. Feminine Leadership is not just about being soft, accepting, giving and nourishing. This is a limiting role for women; we are much more than just that.

Feminine Leadership is also about being wild, destructive, when needed in order to make space for new life to come (just look at Mother Nature these days with Gustav Hurricane behind us) and sexual.

In the struggle between Male energy and Female energy the old world knew that the power will be on the side of the Female energy due to the fact that women are much more sexual beings and with that comes a huge source of power.

Therefore, probably, one of the most successful image control campaign ever made, was to turn sex into an evil, dirty and dangerous thing and therefore limit its power only to one purpose only – which is the continuity of the human race.

Madonna is not buying into that campaign – she has liberated thousands of women and especially female singers from the image of the “good little girl” and opened the way to women to show their power beyond just a back stage singer and a background for the man leading singer on the band.

Madonna was the first female pop star to have complete control of her music and image. She is not only a singer, dancer, actor and even fashion designer; she is a great business woman that knows how to run her business in the best way.

Through the years, this icon of pop culture has evolved and reinvented herself, scandalized and achieved global recognition. Madonna knows how to use the media. She is in your face and relishes on her controversy.

Lately once the sexuality issue was used as much as possible, the issue is, how come she looks so young and keeps her figure as if she is 20 years old. Again, this amazing woman is not willing to fall into stereotypes of how a woman of 50 should look like and behave.

Some are saying well it’s easy to look that way when you have a private trainer, private surgeon, private dietitian and private nanny. To those I say – well let’s say you would have all that would you spend 4 hours in a gym to keep in shape, keep a tight diet to watch your weight, do 2 hours a day Yoga to maintain your balance and flexibility and take time to practice your new steps and movements? Most people say “No, I don’t think so that’s too much for me…”

That’s the difference between them and successful people. Successful people like Madonna will do ANYTHING to reach their goal. She is not willing to sit on her laurels and say well I’ve done it for 20 years I don’t need to do it anymore. She keeps on pushing the envelope to see how high she can reach. That is what makes her unique in my eyes.

Watching her a few nights ago I can tell you that girl is not going anywhere but… up. She is, as always, a role model for me of how to break the rules of society and use it to work for you.

Madonna once explained her outspokenness: “A lot of people are afraid to say what they want. That’s why they don’t get what they want.”
