Angela Merkel - Most Powerful Woman in the World
1st of September is always a day that for me means new beginning. Actually I was looking and realized that actually it’s been a year since this Blog has been on the air. I find it a reason to celebrate.
As a gift for this celebration the US business magazine Forbes announced its yearly list of 100 Powerful Women in the World, and has ranked Angela Merkel Germany’s Chancellor, as the most powerful woman in the world for the 2nd year in a row.
Forbes says Ms Merkel had impressed with her “cool leadership” at the G8 meeting of world leaders and the European Union summit, both of which were held in Germany this summer.
“First she stuck to her principles by getting G8 leaders to agree to significant cuts in carbon emissions. She later corralled European countries into an agreement on a treaty to replace the EU constitution,” the magazine said.
I find this choice an excellent choice. While many women on that list are still demonstrating old ways of power, which are taken from male energy concept of power, and are actually trying to compete harder and better with power and leadership, Angela Merkel shows that there is another way of leadership, power and strength.
She is a strong supporter of the environment and her actions in the last G8 summit reveal it. She announced ambitious carbon emission reduction targets and crowned this achievement by securing a global agreement on carbon emissions. Although her major opponent to it was the US president, she still managed to mend the disastrous relationship with the US she inherited from her predecessor.
Angela Merkel is showing us that feminine power can be shown in a much quieter, soft and simple ways then being aggressive, pushy or dominating.
I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate this Blog’s birthday then this news about women’s power taking another road shown by Angela Merkel and most important being recognized as being powerful.
Have a great day, Vered

Dear Vered,
It was nice to see you again after the vacation!! It was also nice to see Nisandeh and Rani to. I also like to congratulate you with the 1 birtday of your blog !! As I told you at the evening for how to write a book….I read your blog, and I love reading it. I will try to post more reactions.
I think Angela Merkel is a very strong and powerfull women!!, because she is standing for her principals, and nobody can change that, she will not change them because some gentlemen disagree with her. She is really standing for her thoughts and ideas. I think she deserve the first place.
She is standing there with a straight back and she tells the things she has to say. She is also so secure about the things she said. We can learn a lot of feminine power by following her on television and in the newspapers, I also liked her debate she has to do before she became the Chancellor with the other campaigner.
with love
Marina
